 Recipe List: Steps:

Rice
1 1/2 cups white rice
1 cup brown lentils
2 brown onions roughly chopped
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp of cumin and corriander
6 cups of water






Tomato sauce

2 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 garlic gloves finally chopped
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt
Between 1 and 2 cups of water

 

Rice
1) Heat oil in large saucepan until hot
2) Add add onions cooked until almost burnt
3) Add lentils  and rice
4) Stir for 1 minute
5) Add the rice (cook for 1 minute)
6)Add cumin and corriander
7) Add water
8) Add salt
9) Place lid on saucepan
10) Bring to boil
11) Simmer very slowly For 20 to 30 minutes until rice and lentils are cook and water has evaporated

Tomato sauce

1) Heat garlic and vegetable sauce gently
2) Add cumin and chilli
3) Cook for 30 seconds
4) Add tomato paste and stir for 30 seconds
5) Add water
6) Add salt
7) Simmer very slowly for 5 minutes
